Hazel Park Raceway, opened in 1949 was a historic horse racetrack in the Detroit metro area. Offering excitement and thrills during the summer nights to area visitors for over 50 years. Initially envisioned as a car racing venue, plans were changed in the 40’s and it hosted its first horse race in August of 1949. After closing it’s doors in 2018- it had hosted thousands of races and exciting times for local residents and visitors to the area.
