Newberry Hill Ski Jump
The Story Behind the Design
In the 1920's and 1930's, local resident daredevils and thrill-seekers would get their adrenaline rush at Rochester's Newberry Hill Ski Jump.
The ski jump, located near Bloomer Park, measured a total of 287 feet tall from the top of the jump to the bottom of the hill.
Newberry Hill hosted a number of ski tournaments over the years and entertained locals (both participants and onlookers) until its untimely destruction caused by high winds.
